ARTOPINION:Intro

Artopinion: As I try to assemble my thoughts on the art works I have watched so far,I realised  that a critic or an understanding about an art is never equivocal.Opinions are subjective and are framed by the conditions to which we have accepted to live.In this context,"Can one define art as orthodox?;Or, what limits do art possess? How far the limitation is imposed by explicit expression?"These are some of the questions I ask myself when I view films particularly that ends with a question to the audience.Based on this,Filmopinion ,I believe shall be a platform to render the view points that captivated me,be it a book ,a song ,a poem or a movie.

Orthodox-A stereotype quagmire of excellence and an agenda setting word over which the sacredness of any creation is viewed upon.Honestly, nothing in this world is unorthodox.Recently when I took the opportunity to watch "God Sex and Love" by Mia Malkova directed by Ram Gopal Varma,I realised that the movie was not about sex but about sexuality. When one starts viewing it through the prism of art,the orthodoxy of purity vanishes and what remains is only a thought expression of the director and the performer. Now,you may take it as good or bad but can't question its credibility for art needs no validation. Its the artist who seeks it.

Despite these facts it is true that we are caught in a repeated spell of attaching an "orthodox" tag to the art forms.Art in many ways is a cleavage to our locked souls. One evolves as one practices and to be not bound by externalities is the greatest strength of art.Breaking the barriers, art releases the artist within and hence no art is unorthodox ,it is in its way "authentic" by its creativity.Period.
