Not just flesh and bones-A Women's day note

“I'm not afraid of God. I'm afraid of man.” - Svetlana Alexievich

Not many may be familiar with the name of the author.Svetlana holds the pride of Nobel laureate in Literature in the year 2015.The above mentioned quote from her collection "Voices from Chernobyl" though explains the context of the nuclear disaster, stands very much relevant to "Feminism" too in the current arena of Gender polarity.

Women's day is celebrated all over the world on March 8 and as a man amidst the fouling beast of male martyrdom,I can and should and will be a better man ,in all manly manifestations of my life as a son,a brother, a friend ,a companion and if fate decides a husband too. This need to be the oath for every single man reading this article. Because, time and again the brutalities flashes in our hearts and minds.

To state a few,

Inhuman act 1: Chennai- A seven-year-old girl, who went missing from her apartment complex in southern suburban Mugalivakkam on Sunday, was found murdered near the tollgate at Mugalivakkam on Wednesday morning. The half-burnt body of the girl was found inside a travel bag.

Inhuman act 2: Chennai: The body of a three-year-old girl child, who was missing since Saturday morning, was found on Sunday amidst garbage in the Tiruvottiyur dumpyard with signs of injury in her genitalia

An emotional outburst:
For those sycophantly in need of testosterone outburst, the modern day porn industry best can be an exploit of your beastly hunger rather the innocent children who deserve right to an enjoying childhood

All these within a span of one month. And this happens in a city that is considered the safest among the metros of India.Leaving aside the topic of Feminism for a brief paragraphical explanation, the question on hand poses the twin sword of Pedophile adulthood and the mass media propaganda. What best contributes a man's life? I have searched the answer for this question rhetorically in almost all the works from Plato to Stephen Hawking. The best answer being the part played by the better half in the man's life.
Such is womanhood and such should be man's benignity-"The Combo pack of life" I would call it.

While the solution, thinking beyond gender has been rendered impractical by most critics of mine,I believe "Being human" can be the best a man could do in the given context of what attributes to a feministic uprising.Further and above,in a society ravaged by numerous paradoxes, let a girl child be given an opportunity to enjoy her childhood.Pedophile being declared a psychiatric disorder, let us together as a society be more aware towards it and find the right solution.

Now to the paragraphical explanation on Feminism.

What constitutes Feminism?- Any man/woman exuding to be a feminist needs to understand the depth involved in learning and living a gender.Numerous theories starting from Marx to the latest Pinkathon admirers have delved understanding the Feminism concept.Lastly we satisfied ourselves by saying "An equal rights phenomena","An unbiased gender approach" etc.It goes beyond rights and opportunities, it is based on the commonality of understanding a woman as a human first and then perceive her from her own shoes.Well this definition sounds Utopian and least we are settled with demanding equal rights in equal spheres.

Though neatly defined ,we are yet to undermine the hideous patriarchy agenda from our society. To quote an example, the following lines  would provide some context

Any player of chess could ordinarily decipher the tone of the poem.Similar to thus inexplicit expression of Patriarchy, many such notions with a subconscious pretext of male domination is on the swinging mode in our daily lives. However, the new world era slowly is moving towards a substantiated path of gender equality. The children born in the new millenia are given an opportunity to explore the world in their own mode.It is sad that the opportunity is neither affordable nor accessible for all children in an equilibrium plane. One could google the data regarding gender disparity in India in various spheres. The data gives us  a knee jerk reaction as one woman reads this post as another elsewhere in some corner of the country is subjected to sexual exploitation.Having said that, the solution lies in "Education" and not just academic, a moral, unbiased gender education, right from the primary level would help bridging this gap and get to dust the notions of male dominated path to freedom.

A Happy women's day.

The post dedicated to all ladies who have been a part of my life and still on.
