ART OPINION: MUGIZH

 I still remember March 19,2017 so vividly in my head.A new wave  entered into my life and we named it ''Jio".Well, this movie 'Mugizh' is not just about 'Scooby'(the themed characte) but the emotional connect and the philosophy of life that follows you,once you understand the being of another creation other than just "YOU".

Thanks to Karthik Swaminathan(Director) and Ponmar(Cinematographer) for capturing the delicate yet intricate moments in life which we often overlook.Though the basic humanness is the centripetal plot,it has not been forayed upon our emotional quotient.The subtlety of the most essential philosophies like co-existence of all beings,the exit of a being from our lives and the necessary resurrection of emotions that follows, have been scattered all over the movie in a decent mellow way.

Grieving is a process and absolutely a necessary process.When I say necessary, it also need to be said as "unique".As R.W.Emerson quoted,"We boil at different degrees".The movie captures the absence(in this case-death) of a loved being as groove for this grieving of all the family members at.The expression of such grief is at varied levels by all the members of the family.The neatly shot camera angles with the domesticity of a family knits the movie close to the heart.The scenic and still shots (loved the way VJS pseudo reprimanding Scooby) brings life to the movie and makes it close to heart.

The film is not preachy but genuine in delivering the underlined philosophy of death and being humane.Commendable thought to the director for centralizing this theme around a being(Scooby) other than human.Overall,the movie has a take away of different things for different people based on their interactions with the other living beings of nature.Concluding the art opinion  with slightly modifying  Roger Caras quote,"If you don't own a dog,atleast one, there may not necessarily be anything wrong with you,but you definitely are missing the incredible part of your humaneness."Stay humane.

LANE CHANGE WITHIN CIRCLE

 "Sweet as it be,sad as meant to be, refreshing whenever you choose, free until you are tied to noose...Life is what it is and none explains it better than life itself"~Shri

As you walk pass 30 years of your space on earth,you feel like you understand the living on earth as a better adult.But I bet you don't.As the Zen saying goes,"Life would have been elsewhere,where else you search for it in a tunnel".Attuned to the conundrums of middle time crisis,the mind goes aghast with the speedy process of earn,fame and flame.When I was reading Buddha, I felt ,Siddhartha left the home at 29,earned the enlightenment at 35,so is it already time for me to leave home and try to become one!! The squandering mind then get linearized thinking about the age of information I have been born into.I am no Buddha and can neither be so in future.Then what am I? The carefully framed 5 W questions of English language peep through right on the day when someone points to you when you are 30 years old.

Being a thorough read of Albert Camus, the idea of  "Absurdism" comes now and then when thinking about the essential space, one occupies in this Universe.However, I am no less inspired by Nietzsche either,hence the relentless pursuit of "Super man" with the breaking of tradition has always existed within.The concaved thought of one's understanding about life has always been framed by the interactions he has had in his life time.This makes the life of all beings on earth unique as no interaction happens with the same frequency.When looking back the journey of life with no strings attached,every human at 30 believes that the revelation has not yet happened and the drive is happening on a second gear mode.Exceptions do exists where the reverse gear of life's revelation happens as you move down the cliff of nowhere. However the journey of life is not more best than it is now.

As I watch my sexagenarian parents who have walked past the changing lanes of life,I really stand grounded for I am blessed with the curiosity of unconventional fissures of modernist living.The liberty of the millennials lies in the fact that the new era of information provides the unexplored dimensions of human thoughts.However the fear of saturation and the depthlessness of sensual exchanges always exist.With the liberal thought breaking the ethos of sustained emotional connect,the change of lane within the circle at 30 years,I believe should be an unapprehensive appreciation of the transit with a gentle smile.

The greatest take away in this journey pursuit is breaking the strong foundations of self ego brick by brick via life experiences.To conclude , "I asked a monk how to stand tall,he just smiled and bowed".Life's period is ephemeral and all that lane that you plan to change is no more than a dot in the whole canvas of Universe unfolding.

A FALLING ETHICAL ENTERPRISE

Credited with the decorum of Non Violence day,October 2 till date has retained the fondly remembrance of Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.Numerous articles,podcasts, political drama,over and above the day is just more than a public holiday for the overworked common population of India.The man,his vision and his ideology have been utilised in numerous ways beyond imagination for the culmination of a mass mentality of an ideal figurine.The purpose of the Gandhian way of life is a mockery today as it's just treated with what we call as "Vanja Pugazchi Ani"-an impractical and non sense life style in an all materialistic world.Trying to understand the psyche of Gandhi in connection to the time of his living,I admire him for his journey on a tight and slender rope of truth and truth alone.

In my earlier write up about Gandhi, (A TANGLED REVERENCE),I was trying to understand the experiments he conducted upon himself and upon the society,strictly restricting to his psychological behaviour.Now as I read more and draw parallels from the millennial life style,the ethical conundrum of Gandhi is a worthy introspection.Gandhi's ethical way is based upon truth and one strong conviction,

   "Not only does the end result needs to be good but also the pathway to such result should be sin free"

In a world running behind results and lure of fame and wealth,Gandhi's ethical stand is a failing enterprise.It's not faulty but just failing.As we move decade to decade towards the 22nd century, the shackles of culture, the karma theory and the boundaries of morality are getting thawed just like our glacial treasure.Gandhi's idea of Swarajya where we take back to the local democratic roots have been replaced by market oriented society where the production happens not for the need but for the cost.Similarly Gandhi's take on Chaturvarna and his strong belief on the inherent selfless man can be searched today only with a high resolution microscope.Gandhi and Marx, both agreed on a stateless society.However, today though that dream has been half fulfilled,stateless society has been replaced with status hungry markets.

A worthy remembrance today will be Gandhi's opinion on womanhood.True, that the world has marched forward and women today have been making an imprint in almost all fields.Gandhi though rooted to cultural psyche,stands to be a gender neutral person,as far as I have understood.Gandhi's political ideology,where he claims for the bottom up approach and called upon the rich to strive for common progress, is highly flattened in the Globalised era.Lastly,Gandhi's fight against untouchability have taken different forms from two-tumblers to intercaste marriages.But the Indian society have a deeply strong connection of  born with the ''chaapa'' of caste rather than equity and equality.His ideals of ahimsa, firm resistance and undeniable belief on humanity can only be considered an Utopian for the current century man.Quoting Einstein,"Generations to come,it may well be, will scarce believe that such a man as this one ever in flesh and blood walked upon this earth''  

Despite all these,Gandhi as an enterprise who propagated non-violence, truth and firm conviction on religious morality has been reduced to falling legacy overshadowed by the waves of time.In his own words," I am a man of yesterday",Gandhi's wit,wisdom and moral ambiguity have not been subjected to serious investigation by the younger generation.The simple reason being that the man himself has become a base ground for numerous political octopus propaganda.All said and done, the rigorous code of Gandhian ethics and his seven deadly sins concept requires a non-biased and undistracted mind space to revisit during the crucial times of human crisis.

NEITHER HERE NOR THERE!!!

Amidst the pandemic where everyone battles uncertainty ,he still saw the sun shining, the moon waning and the sea soaring.The deadly silence of the river moved like serpent carrying the legacy of stories hidden by the froth of toxic waste.River Yamuna has changed.This wasn't the river he used to row through. But still, the sun ,the moon and the sea are the same.The curious spread of Corona never bothered him, for he understands the punctuations of the poem called -Life.All that he worried about was the intermediate interactions whose nature has bygone since ages.He felt congestive as his mind ached with the overcrowded thoughts.

Far from the corner came a lady.She appeared to be soaked in the wisdom of time.With nowhere to search, he spurted across the lady's pathway and asked,"If death is the unavoidable constant, why do the variables in life affect humans?".The lady smiled and replied,"To determine the effect, you need to understand the cause.The effect of constant, though undeniable, has a resonance based on the combination of variables you ought to choose."

Though half heartedly, the young man agreed to the reply, he asked,"Isn't time the binding entity of all causalities.?I cannot outlive that, right?So how do my intermediate interactions cause a resonation during my life?".

The lady pointed towards the fag end of the river and asked,"Do you see the river there?'

"Yes,I do."

The lady picked up a stone and flung it to the maximum distance and asked,"Do you still see the river?"

"Yes,I do!!"

The lady came near the young man and asked "Do you see the stone that caused a resonation in the path?"

"No.".

"But you said, you saw the river? How could you not see the resonance it showed there?"

"How could I see that from here?.You flung the stone so far in the river.It would have caused ripples only on its impulse point.There's no chance that the effect of resonance be carried throughout"-replied the man.

"Rightly said son.The river resonated within and rippled outwardly.To understand the effect of this resonance, you be free from the froth of desire that clouds you.The river resonates neither there nor here but everywhere."

"In an undying entity of time where the only constant is death, resonate with the variables that you are blessed with by nature.And to resonate, you be everywhere, bound neither here nor there.Be blessed and beyond dear son",said the lady walking away.

He saw the silent river running now like a millipede precariously dancing to tune of its "free willed" legs.And the red moon flamed the sky on the night of Buddha Purnima.He was neither there nor here but everywhere.

முற்றுப்புள்ளி

                 "மறுபரிசீலனைக்கு அப்பாற்பட்ட முற்றுப்புள்ளி - மரணம்"

"சின்னக் கலைவாணர் " என்று மக்களால் கொண்டாடப்பட்ட கலைஞர் விவேக் சமீபத்தில் இயற்கை எய்தினார்.துக்கத்திற்கும் ,துயரத்திற்கும் அப்பாற்பட்டு இயற்கை தன் தினப்பணியை தொடர்ந்தது.எதிர்பாரா மரணம் இரு கேள்விகளை எப்பொழுதும் போல் வீசிவிட்டு சென்றது."எங்கிருந்து வந்தோம் ?" "எங்கே போகிறோம் ?".விடை இல்லாத இரு கேள்விகள் .

நா.முத்துக்குமாரின் "வேடிக்கைப் பார்ப்பவன் "போன்று ,உலகின் ஒவ்வொரு அசைவையும் நாம் வேடிக்கை தான் பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கிறோம்.நம்மையும் பலர் வேடிக்கை பார்த்துக் கொண்டு தான் நகர்கின்றனர்.எப்படி கண்ணுக்கு எட்டா விசை மூலம் பூமி 23 1/2°சாய்ந்து சுத்துகின்றதோ ,அதே போல தான் ,நம் நினைவுள்ள வரையில் நம் மனம் பல புரியாத புதிர்களை வேடிக்கை பார்த்துக்கொண்டே விரிகிறது.

இறைவனடி சேர்ந்தார் என்பதும்,இயற்கையோடு கலந்தார் என்பதும்,நம் அறிவை கொண்டு நம் மனதை ஆசுவாசம் படுத்த கூறும் பதில்கள்."அப்படியென்றால் மனித வாழ்வே அர்த்தமற்றதா? சூன்யம் என்ற மறுப்புவாதம் தான் உலக தத்துவமோ ? " என்று என்னிடம் கேட்டால்,என் பதில் "இல்லை " என்பது தான்.

மரணம் என்பது மறுக்கப்படக்கூடாதது.அதே போன்று,தேடிச்செல்லக்கூடாததும்தான்.ஆதிகுடி தோன்றி மனிதன் பல்வேறு முரண்பட்ட வாதங்கள் மூலம் ,தன் செருக்கையும்,செல்வத்தையும் பெருக்கிக்கொண்டானே தவிர எதார்த்தம் என்ன என்று இன்னும் புரியாமல் திண்டாடுகிறான்.மரணம் பற்றி நெடிய கட்டுரை வரைய முடிந்த நமக்கு "உயிர்" என்பதை வரையறுக்கும் பக்குவம் இல்லை.குளோனிங் ,செயற்கை கரு என்ற அறிவியலின் நீட்சி ,"உயிர்க்கூறு" என்பதை விளக்கமுடியவில்லை.அதை விளக்க முடியாததால்தானோ என்னவோ இறைவன் இன்னும் பல வீடுகளில் படத்திலாவது சிரித்தபடி இருக்கிறார்.

"நாம் யார்?" என்று அனைவருமே ,விஞ்ஞானம் -மெய்ஞ்ஞானம் கொண்டு பார்த்தால் -இயற்கையின் திரிபு.பஞ்சபூதங்களின் உருமாற்றம்.நடுவில் அசைவிக்கும் ஜீவநாதம் தான் புரியாத விந்தை.மரணம் என்பது இந்த திரிபின் கூட்டு.புதிரான,புலப்படாத அந்த ஜீவநாதம் மட்டும் உலகில் கதிராய் உலா வருகிறது."Balance  of energy " என்ற வரையறை படி உலகம் சமதளத்தில் இன்றளவும் இயங்குகிறது."ஜீவநாதம்" என்ற அந்த சக்தியின் தன்மை நம் வாழ்வியல் முறையே.

நல்லோரின் (Positive) ஜீவன் இருந்த போதும் சரி,இறந்த பின்னும் சரி தன் சக்தியின் மூலம் இயற்கையின் சமநிலையை நிலைநிறுத்தும்.இதுவே எதார்த்தம்,இயற்கை.வாழும் காலத்தே வாழ்த்தி வாழ்வோம்,வாழ்ந்த பின்னும் வாழவைத்தே விடைபெறுவோம்.மறுபரிசீலனைக்கு அப்பாற்பட்ட மரணத்தை வாதிடாமல் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வோம். ---சமர்ப்பணம் ---- சின்ன கலைவாணர் விவேக்கிற்கு..
